C.L. Hoover Opera House: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - Mar. 12
Five lucky children have won the chance of a lifetime to tour Mr. Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. They will have the opportunity to explore all the machinery and inner workings of the mysterious factory where the world’s most wonderful candy is made. The children, including Charlie, arrive at the factory and proceed through the front gates. Each is eager to claim the prize. But, one by one, these greedy children pay a price for their shortsightedness, until only Charlie is left. What does the eccentric Willy Wonka want? Who are the unknown factory workers who throw very tiny shadows on the windows and talk in rhyme? As Charlie tries to solve these puzzles, he learns about himself and a simple lesson. Join Charlie on his wild adventure and meet the cast of zany characters in this adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by the world-renowned author, Roald Dahl.

C.L. Hoover Opera House: James Gregory: The Funniest Man in America - Stand Up Comedy - Mar. 19
For over two decades, the unforgettable caricature of veteran comedian James Gregory has stood grinning: his shirt untucked, his arms outstretched, a carefree welcome to a down-home, hilarious comedy experience. It’s storytelling at its best. The absence of vulgarity sets James apart and his stories are carefully crafted art. “I have lived long enough to know people, know life”, Gregory reflects. “My comedy is based on my life experiences. It’s real, it’s funny and the audience loves it. That’s why I’m still in business
In his first project in 13 years, James Gregory’s “Beef Stew for the Brain” dishes up brilliant imitations on stupid relatives, obsession with the weather, and spoofing health addicts, modern parents, and out-of-control environmentalists. At the top of his powers, “Beef Stew for the Brain” is James Gregory’s best work to date. If you found “Chicken Soup for the Soul” just a tad too syrupy, get ready for some fun!

MAC Birdhouse: Kenney White - Mar. 26
We are delighted welcome back to Birdhouse of one of our favorite artists: Kenny White. Kenny combines urban storytelling with an acrobatic piano playing, reminding us, as a Birdhouse regular put it, “that the piano is a percussion instrument.” At the age of six, Kenny started playing songs that he heard on the radio, and his professional career has had him playing with such famous artists as Linda Ronstadt, Dwight Yoakam, Gladys Knight, Aaron Neville, Ricky Skaggs, Al Jarreau, and Kim Carnes. Lively, smart, and lyrical, Kenny’s performance is one you won’t want to miss.
