  2. Water Stories by Lynn Benson

    "Waterplaces" is a suite of 101 drawings on vellum paper. The exhibition will also present the artist’s 2018 Friends of the Beach Museum of Art Gift Print, "Dancing on the Table." This work reflects Benson's interest in water sources that flow under ground such as the Ogallala Aquifer in parts of Western Kansas and surrounding states. Benson brings attention to this hidden natural treasure in a chine colle´ lithograph with gold leaf and coloring applied by hand.

  3. Here and Now: KSU Dept. of Art Faculty Exhibition

    Exhibition represents studio practices by 15 members of the K-State studio art faculty. These works have been made within the last two years and vary in concept and construction. The artwork features the disciplines of ceramics, drawing, fibers, graphic design, painting, photography, sculpture, and new media. Chad Alligood, chief curator of American art at Huntington Library (San Marino, Calif.), will serve as juror and announce award winners at the exhibition opening.

  4. Made by Hand: A Woman's Journey Expressed Through Fiber

    Made by Hand presents the work of two female fiber artists, Anita Luvera Mayer and Jennifer Schermerhorn, whose creative talents transform their media into creations that illuminate and express a wide range of emotions, portray a feminine identity and speak to women’s societal roles.

    K-State Historic Costume and Textile Museum and Manhattan Arts Center have collaborated for Made by Hand exhibition. Strecker Nelson West Gallery is the Gallery Season Sponsor.

  6. Made by Hand: A Woman's Journey Expressed Through Fiber

    Exhibition curated by Marla Day, K-State Historic Costume and Textile Museum (Department of Apparel, Textiles and Interior Design). Mayer gifted her creations to K-State along with many others that have been showcased in Justin Hall and campus galleries. Mayer creates garments by incorporating an incredible range of hand dyeing and embellishing techniques.

    Free program for education, engagement and connection among entrepreneurs and communities. This month's presenters are TrenDesks and Ballroom Dance School Manhattan. SunField LLC is behind the TrenDesks brand to design, make and sell standing desks. Ballroom Dance is Manhattan's only dance studio to offer ballroom dancing in the form of private lessons.

    1 Million Cups meets the first Wednesday morning of each month. Each founder makes a six-minute presentation, followed by audience Q&A. 1 Million Cups accelerates Manhattan entrepreneurs with monthly networking, innovative energy and free coffee. Since launching in November, this community has grown to 100 meeting monthly.

    This has evolved into the largest environmental film festival in the nation, with the Kansas premiere on the Kansas State University campus. All proceeds benefit Friends of the Kaw and Kansas Riverkeeper Program.
