  1. Celebrating 100 Years of History and Heritage: Riley County Historical Museum

    Centennial celebration exhibit showcases 100-plus artifacts and photographs significant to the history of the Riley County community. Notable objects include a section of original seating from Wareham Opera House, penny-farthing bicycle owned by Guy Varney, hand-carved sunflower clock made from local wood for the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago, 1893.

    Many objects on view have been rarely exhibited. Centennial exhibition accompanied by series of programs (watch for announcements and check calendar).

  4. Fronteras/Frontiers Exhibition

    Exhibition explores complexity of borders and frontiers in the Midwest through the work by artists Artemio Rodríguez and Fidencio Fifield-Perez. Rodríguez's practice transcends the boundaries of printmaking, and engages the public through mobile printmaking studio/gallery, the GraficoMovil. Born in Mexico and raised in the U.S., Fifield-Perez explores issues of migration, labor, and the politicization of borders through the manipulation of maps, newspaper cuttings and paper.

    Explore 100-year history of 1st Infantry Division, from Big Red One founding to present day. Exhibit displays exceptional history of the 1ID in Tallgrass Gallery; chronicles five heroic soldiers through WWI, WWII, Vietnam, Gulf Wars, Kosovo conflict and today's military. For children, Camp Funston "boot camp" where kids can "train" alongside Rags, 1ID's WWI pooch mascot.

    Wednesday morning each month, 1-2 early-stage startups present their companies to a diverse audience of peers, mentors, educators and advisers. Each founder presents for six minutes, followed by 20-minute audience Q-&-A session. Each startup receives feedback to gain insights on improving their businesses, gather real-time feedback and connect with the Manhattan community.

    The culture surrounding 1 Million Cups is that of a supportive, inclusive, neutral space welcoming entrepreneurs to be open and honest about their businesses and the challenges they face.
